Sanding Corian®: Corian® by Dupont, was invented in in the 1960's and has become the name synonymous with solid surface materials. Since then, many other brands have been introduced that compete with Corian*. The characteristic they have in common are that they are the same color throughout, which is a benefit for sanding applications both in the initial fabrication, as well as maintenance and repair later.

Sanding Cultured Marble: Cultured Marble is fabricated from a mixture of polyester resin, limestone dust, fillers, and pigments with a clear gel coat finish on the top. Sanding cultured marble is a little trickier, as it is not a "solid"surface--you do not want to work your way completely through the gel coat. One of our first customers at Abrasive Resource was a cultured marble fabricator—and they have been ordering their sanding discs, waterproof sheets, and fabrication supplies from us for over 30 years now!
