> Solid Surface
Sanding Solid Surface: Sanding is one of the most important steps in the solid surface fabrication of both residential and commercial countertops, bathroom vanities, shower walls/pans and even furniture and fixtures. The variation in finishes from Matte to High Gloss are achieved by working through the specified abrasive grits using sanding discs until the final polish with a nonwoven solid surface sanding abrasive pad.

Sanding Corian®: Corian® by Dupont, was invented in in the 1960's and has become the name synonymous with solid surface materials. Since then, many other brands have been introduced that compete with Corian*. The characteristic they have in common are that they are the same color throughout, which is a benefit for sanding applications both in the initial fabrication, as well as maintenance and repair later.

Sanding Cultured Marble: Cultured Marble is fabricated from a mixture of polyester resin, limestone dust, fillers, and pigments with a clear gel coat finish on the top. Sanding cultured marble is a little trickier, as it is not a "solid"surface--you do not want to work your way completely through the gel coat. One of our first customers at Abrasive Resource was a cultured marble fabricator—and they have been ordering their sanding discs, waterproof sheets, and fabrication supplies from us for over 30 years now!
